Case Study Applications

Injection Moulding

Goudsmit UK have dual sources for our moulding products. Alligator Plastics is part of the Goudsmit Group and is based in The Netherlands. It produces high specification mouldings in engineering, filled and high temperature plastics.

It also has the capability to produce twin shot mouldings which have given product designers much greater scope in what they can achieve with their plastics design. To complement Alligator Plastics, we have a manufacturing site in Asia, for the production of simpler mouldings. This twin pronged approach to supply is effective and gives us the flexibility to supply to a wide range of industrial sectors.

Injection Moulding Machine

Goudsmit UK design, draft and model components for our clients and can also provide FEA analysis when required. With years of experience in injection moulding production we are well qualified to give sound technical and commercial advice to our clients.

Moulding

Production facilities are based around small to medium sized batches of 10,000 to 100,000 pieces. Automation is based on the volume of parts required and we can produce either fully automated or with manual part removal. Fully fed back machines running moulding SPC parameters and a modern material supply system mean we can produce lights out for 24 hour manufacture.

Our facilities are:

  • Engel horizontal moulding machines to 200 tonnes
  • Aarburg vertical machines to 100 tonnes
  • Twin shot Engel machines to 200 tonnes
  • Fully equipped tool room
  • Fireproof tool store
  • Vacuum transport system for plastics

Post Moulding

Goudsmit UK’s strength lies in our ability to perform multiple operations on finished mouldings. From something as simple as stamping through to fully finished assembled products, Goudsmit UK have both the technical knowledge and the supply chain to provide excellent solutions.

Our post moulding options are:

  • Finishes, such as sandblasting
  • Printing (inkjet or stamp)
  • Ultrasonic welding
  • Heat staking
  • Press-fit components

Tooling

With a fully equipped and staffed tool room we have the option of building tools in-house or through approved tool makers. This allows us to maximise efficiency to make tooling more competitive for our clients. Having the capability to modify or repair tooling in-house means that continuity of supply is guaranteed.
