    10 months.

    What time did you get up this morning?

    My alarm went off at 06:30am but I hit snooze too many times before getting up so 7am.

    What attracted you to Goudsmit UK?

    I was looking a new challenge and I already had a working relationship with Goudsmit UK, I was intrigued on how they operated.

    Describe your job in 5 words

    Challenging, enjoyable, educational, rewarding, varied.

    What does your job entail?

    I control the operating processes and procedures within the company, alongside dealing with customers/suppliers with regards quality. It’s my job to ensure that our supply chain, manufacturing processes and technical documentation is of the highest standard, in order to meet our customer demands and in line with our industry certifications. I have also just taken on the role of training so its very varied.

    What does a typical day involve for you?

    I’d love to say I have a typical day, but working in Goudsmit with the different aspects of my job everyday is different which makes it more enjoyable.

    How did you get into this line of work?

    When I was young and working for a previous employer doing a job I didn’t enjoy. I looked at all the other areas within engineering that I would like to peruse and decided that a job within quality and engineering would suit me better, so I figured out what I needed to do to achieve this and did it.

    What’s the best part of your job at Goudsmit UK?

    Dealing with the processes within Goudsmit allows me to interact with everyone within the company. This gives me the benefit of knowing and sometimes understanding what everyone else does within the company.

    What personal qualities are required to do your job?         

    Good organisational skills, patience and time management.

    What’s the biggest challenges you face in your job?

    Interpretation of drawings.

    What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

    Making sure the customers get what they are asking for and seeing our procedures aid people in completing their day to day task as easily and efficiently as possible.

    What’s the best piece of advice you could give to a new person joining your team?

    You will have never worked for a company like this, so enjoy it.

    What do you do in your spare time?

    I play a lot of football plus I’m a member of a local running club. I only just fit this in around being a parent.

    Any fun / interesting facts about you?

    Since the introduction of the mobile phone I sometimes pee sitting down!!

    What time will you get home this evening?

    I always have to pick the kids up on my way home so ill not get home until after 5:15pm.
