Neodymium magnets (NdFeB)

Neodymium-Iron-Boron (NdFeB) magnets are delivered by Goudsmit under the brand name Neoflux®. Also described as a ‘rare earth magnet’, it is the strongest and most powerful commercially available magnet material, with a very high energy product.

Samarium-Cobalt magnets (SmCo)

Samarium Cobalt offers the second highest energy density of the 4 main magnetic materials used commercially. Having 7 times the strength of Ferrite means that magnetic assemblies with Samarium Cobalt can be reduced accordingly. Samarium-Cobalt magnets have excellent magnetic characteristics, a low temperature coefficient and high stability.

AlNiCo magnets

Once the strongest type of permanent magnetic material available, AlNiCo magnets were developed in the 1930’s. Regardless of being largely replaced by cheaper and stronger alternatives, AlNiCo magnets continue to receive widespread interest from many engineers and manufactures for the simple reason that they do not corrode and are chemically inert. Made of Aluminium, Nickel and Cobalt, most AlNiCo magnets are cast and thus can take place in complex forms.

Ferrite magnets

Ferrites are chemical compounds that consist of ceramic materials with iron (III) oxide (Fe2O3) as the key element. Here at Goudsmit UK we specialise in the supply of hard Ferrites. This is a type of permanent magnet. Ferrite magnets or ceramic magnets are the most used magnets, and are used in a wide variety of applications.
