As I am sure you are aware, the Coronavirus outbreak in China is causing major concern worldwide.
Our production facilities have been closed this week for Chinese New Year holidays. However, we have received notification today that they are to remain closed until the 9th February. We have noted some key points:
- Local governments have enforced travel bans and an extension to the New Year holiday in an attempt to contain the spread of the virus.
- The situation is continually being reviewed. However, we do need to be prepared that the return date may be extended beyond this.
- At this time, we know that the resumption of manufacturing in China will be delayed, impacting existing production schedules. However, the actual impact will not be known until the production facilities can re-open.
We’re reviewing all open orders at present and will contact our current customers in the coming days with information on any orders that we believe will be immediately impacted by the extended closure.
We would also like to advise that any pricing requests during this period will be delayed until the production facilities can reopen. Additionally, an extended lead time should be taken into consideration when reviewing any future requirements.
We understand that this is a difficult situation. However, please be assured that we are in continual communication with our production facilities and will ensure to keep you updated as it progresses.
